In-World Systems

The economy is being rebuilt from the ground up

We wiped the old trader stock and the old currency, and we're rebuilding both from scratch. Nothing here is pay-to-win — see Supporting AEGIS for that policy. This page is about the in-game money and trading systems only.

What's changing

The old traders and the old in-game currency are retired. We're starting over with our own currency and a small, deliberately controlled set of trader goods, instead of carrying over what was there before.

Castellan Scrip

The new currency is called Castellan Scrip — paper notes you'll earn by selling at AEGIS traders, and spend buying from them, once trading opens. A few things about it:

  • You get it from trading, not from finding it lying around. It's never placed as regular world loot.
  • You'll be able to deposit and withdraw it at ATMs, so you won't have to carry all of it on you.
  • It can't be bought with real money, in any amount. The only way to get Scrip is to earn it in-game.

Traders start small, on purpose

When trading opens, AEGIS traders will carry a small stock of basic survival goods — not the full range you might remember from before. We're adding items deliberately over time rather than dropping everything back in at once, so the economy stays balanced as it grows.

Your balance is safe

Once deposits work, Scrip you've put in the bank will live on the server's own ledger, not in a save file that can get lost — a server restart won't touch it.

Still in planning and testing

This system is being built and tested before it reaches a live server — the trader stock, prices, and exactly when it opens are still being worked out. Nothing on this page is a promise of a date. If you want to weigh in or ask questions, join the Discord.
